Rock outcrop at the edge of a beaver pond on the MIzzy Lake Trail, Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada. Taken with a Nikon F90x 35mm film camera with Sigma 70-300mm lens
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been interested in photography. My dad & both my older brothers had decent cameras, and I can remember being really excited when my twin brother & I got our first instamatic cameras when we were kids. In my teens I had a 35mm fixed-lens camera, kind of a hybrid between an instamatic & a REAL camera! I bought myself a Ricoh KR-10, 35mm camera for a college graduation present & soon after, my first telephoto lens. I can still tell you the very first shots I took with that lens! I’ve also always had a deep affinity with nature. I grew up in the south end of St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada and spent MANY happy hours wandering the woods & fields of the Niagara Escarpment & the 12-Mile-Creek valley....

I have kinda fascination for reflection images, paintings. This is one of the glassy reflection images I loved.
David Porteus replied:
Thanks Fahad! Not often the water is still at this spot!

What a perfect reflection, not a breath of wind. Algonquin is so beautiful as this image shows. v
David Porteus replied:
Thanks Jo! It was one of those right place, right time moments!

Does a tree see its reflection in the glassy water. Maybe we should consider just how a tree might see. Not everything needs eyes to see. Wrapped up in a tiny seed is the amazing dynamics of instructions that when fed with soil, light, minerals and water grow to delight others with a different sight to view its beauty. We all give something to this world! Cheers- Pamela
